The initiation followed the preparation of a specific despacho to balance Carl with the Pachamama.

With the Pampa Mesayok rites, the initiate becomes a caretaker of the Earth.

The rites are a direct energetic transmission of all the knowledge and wisdom of each shaman including that of the lineage of medicine people that came before him.

The transmission is done in sacred space, using the shaman elder’s mesa (bundle of healing stones and power objects), intention, and breath. 

The Q’ero also put their foreheads up against Carl’s forehead, to infuse him with the wisdom and knowledge held within the shaman’s sixth chakra, or “third eye.”
